Newb apple household here.

Apple agent told me that UPS will be used to ship the MBP ordered through apple.ca. We all know UPS's reputation for broker fees, etc. Apple agent says that there shouldn't be any other charges from shipper.

Anyone got dinged by UPS for orders coming to Canada from apple.ca?

TIA.

you only get dinged if it's classified cross border shopping. Your within Canada paid your Canadian tax you will be fine.

The only complaint I'd have would be UPS service;) they suck if you are not home.

As mentioned above, the total you paid Apple.ca will be your final bill. I found it interesting that so much that I ordered from Apple.ca came from the US and was not warehoused here. When I ordered my MBP and 3 other items, I also had 3 shipments in total - very little consolidation. I consider this a waste, but lots of companies seem to work that way. Apple supply you with tracking numbers via e-mail, but often these are not useful for a day or two until after your item is actually in UPS' hands on its way to you.
