Hi there, Shaw secure for mac is now available. I installed it and so far so good.

It does not have any real settings to fiddle with. It shows firewall and virus/spyware scanning and that is it. Perhaps a later release will let you customize it further.

Hi there, well I had never used the Shaw secure for Windows but heard some people didn't really like it.

It hasn't detected one issue yet and I doubt it will, as even the whole time I had norton for Mac in there, never had one issue. I guess that is a good thing but up till now it seems fine. I checked the resource usage as well and it is definitely not a hog. System performance does not appear to be affected.

I can always uninstall it if things get ugly.

I just installed Shaw Secure for Macs after upgrading my Os to Snow Leopard. Previously I had been using ClamXV and other spyware apps on trial such as MacScan. As Sith has said so far so good. Not that I've had an attack before, but I've wanted protection if only to demonstrate to the bank et al that my machine is protected.
