I thought I'd bring this question up.

I have shaw high speed internet, which will be upgraded to extreme in a few days.

I have my basement for rent, and noticed they also have shaw internet.

Now my question is

#1 does that mean our speeds might slow down, if we both are using shaw? Since we are using the same cable line for the house.

#2 what if I have extreme and they have high speed? Would they be able to pull the speeds I'm supposed to be getting too? Or is the speed determined by the modem? and if so how?

Thanks.

Your internet is shared with your whole node, not just your basement apartment so you will not notice a speed change. The speeds are provisioned at the modem, so yes you will get Extreme and the other will still be getting regular high-speed.
