Very strange how I get Teletoon in HD on Freerange, but not on cable, and that SNE/SNO/SNW/SNP feeds are SD on Freerange, but that I get SNW in HD.
Since the FreeRange app came out I get all channels on free range in HD except for SNW, you can tell because the screen does not fill up completely it is boxed in on all 4 sides. I contacted Shaw about this many months ago and they were seeing the same thing on there end. I hadn't heard from them in 3 months so I asked for an update the other day and they said this is how it is meant to be and it is working properly. I find it strange they would leave one channel in SD where all the other one's are HD and yes I have them all in HD in my cable package.

I've noticed that as well on FreeRange.

Possibly related, but on my 3510 I get Sportsnet West in both SD (on 47) and HD (on 223) for some reason.

Shaw Free Range offerings?

What is the intention behind the Shaw "Free Range" service?

Is it intended to only hold one or 2 episodes? That's all I see when I check the feed for Saturday Night Live.
When do they post the sparse coverage? Four days? Two weeks after original airing on network tv?

I've got Shaw HD cable basic. This is a different question: I had a look at the SNL episode description last night (Saturday) on the Shaw cable guide on my receiver and it was a rerun. I note this morning on youtube that there was an original episode that aired for the first time last night. I have seen original episodes of SNL over the past few months, so I'm sure the live version should be available on my current cable package.

I'm puzzled. Also, FYI I did a google search on the first question (free range) and even after 6 pages there were no other queries that matched it.

Shaw licenses the Free Range content from the copyright holder using a "mobile TV" licence. The contract with the copyright holder dictates how many episodes or how long Shaw can keep an episode on their Free Range service. This contract is different from the Shaw VOD (Video on Demand through your cable box) contract that Shaw has with that same copyright holder and can vary with the show.

It looks like Free Range has fewer episodes than VOD, which has started keeping the full season for many shows, depending on the contract. Shaw normally adds an episode to both services within 2 days (slightly longer when weekends are involved.) You should see the current episode of SNL on Monday or Tuesday.

Shaw has 3 different TV guide systems depending on your hardware: 1) Classic guide for Motorola DCX3400 ad DCT boxes, 2) HD guide for DCX35xx and 3) Gateway. You can discuss your guide problem in the Shaw sub-forum that covers your hardware, although no TV guide is infallible and errors do creep in due to bad data.

I moved your post to this thread which is a sticky at the top of the Shaw Cable forum.

I tried a search on Digital Home using the VB search and this site's Google search and had no trouble finding this thread. I tried a general Google search for "Shaw Free Range" and found the Shaw Direct (satellite) thread on the first page, but not this thread for some reason.

Why have you not upgraded your iPadOS? We're now up to 12 or 13 depending on the age of your iPad. It's important to keep your iOS up to date to prevent hacking and to ensure that your iPad is compatible with current Apps, etc.

It must be old. I have an iPad Air (A1474) from 2013/14 and it's updated to 12.4.2. I'm not sure it's possible to find older versions of apps once they have updated.

Yesterday I updated one of my apps and don't like that it's now identical to the "phone" app and only works in portrait mode... I had a quick look around and couldn't find an iPad version of the app any more...

Unfortunately, older stuff isn't officially supported any more. My iPhone 5S (2013/14) is also now officially unsupported even though it works just fine for what I need it. I'll probably have to replace it next year.

I'm writing this on a Mac Mini from 2012 and I also use a MacBook Pro from 2010 whenever I travel. I've been looking into replacements for all of these items and will do that when I have to and probably not before.

There are some online repositories of older version of apps files (.iap). Side loading them might be more difficult unless you have an old version of iTunes that still has the capabilities of handling apps. Also you don't know what you are downloading when you find an older iap file. Even if you find the right iap file and load it you may find that it is no longer be supported by Shaw. Between the old operating system and old app you may find that you still can't login and authenticate on Free Range.
