After months of delay, Canada's number two direct-to-home (DTH) satellite provider Shaw Direct has announced the release of its MPEG-4 capable HDDSR 605 high definition digital satellite receiver.

The new device, which Shaw customer service has been promising to its customers for over a year, will sell for $199 beginning today.

Features of the new HD receiver include: a new 14 day on-screen guide with an improved colour-coding system and an option to hide the channels you don't subscribe to; picture in guide; a USB port on the front panel, HDMI connectivity; component video outputs; digital audio out; eSata port for potential hard drive add-on and an Ethernet port or internet connectivity.
