If no body knows what that means ping @k801809 she can tell you.Yesterday (10/2) my pvr630 stopped functioning-when I unplug the unit then reconnect-four “0000” appears on display then “————“ and all the while no display on the tv. I tried leaving it unplugged overnight…at one point while it was still powered the display showed “runo”? Any help is appreciated.
Until you get an authoritative answer, I will make a good guess that your receiver is toast.no display on the tv. …at one point while it was still powered the display showed “runo”? Any help is appreciated.
Hi RR…I got the Shaw Direct years ago when Bell launched their new bird and no more signal-ironically when I called for Shawdirect-they offered the pvr630 for ONE DOLLAR-with a 3 year service commitment-which I agreed-why not? So, I met the tech at my relatives and brought the equipment here and it has been working great until it went out-it does not pay me to buy the 830 model now-as when the new replacement for the Anik-the footprint will be even more concentrated north…I will miss some of the CDN programming-but the saving of $$$ monthly will be OK. Take CareUntil you get an authoritative answer, I will make a good guess that your receiver is toast.
No display on the TV will not allow you to do anything. The run0 that once occurred is probably the unit attempting to run its software without success.
The 830 is a nice unit. I hope that you will be able to get a free replacement soon from Shaw Direct.
"Here" being the operative word. You must be in the southern USA.... brought the equipment here ...
I have not heard of any replacement for the Anik satellites they have Anik F2 and Anik G1, Anik F2 is dying so Shaw is putting everything on Anik G1. What do you mean by "the new replacement for the Anik"??it does not pay me to buy the 830 model now-as when the new replacement for the Anik-the footprint will be even more concentrated north…
hmmm-I thought I heard the G1 will reach capacity soon-and a new satellite would be necessary-could be wrong info-certainly…where I am located (60cm dish) and of the G1 signals are below threshold but I can get Toronto plus the sports nets etc. I may have got the pvr630 in 2015-not sure and there should be a code date on bottom?I have not heard of any replacement for the Anik satellites they have Anik F2 and Anik G1, Anik F2 is dying so Shaw is putting everything on Anik G1. What do you mean by "the new replacement for the Anik"??
Yes the 600s will stop working but if NHLPHL can't get G1 then there is no use buying a 800. I think he's like us our 600 died a couple months ago so we canceled Shaw since F2 will be going away soon and we wouldn't get it anyway so no use getting an 800. Like NHLPHL said at least its saving us money every month but we do miss the Cdn channels.Haven't heard anything about a replacement for G1. They're tightening up the compression algorithm so G1 can handle more compressed channels. The 630 can't do the decryption and that's why you'll need an 830.
That is extremely strange because the exact same thing happened to me last night between 6 and 7 pm, except on my new 830. I set the timer on my 830 for the CTV Maritimes news, to watch later in the evening. Before the end of the news show, my 830 lost signal, only on that channel, as far as I know. Also, I was surprised when my recording was also lost. Glad to hear it wasn't just me. CBS and CTV Halifax are on different satellites, so it wasn't a sat problem. What would cause this?I was watching and recording Survivor on CBS last night and last week and a very peculiar thing happened: before the end of the show (last night just a few seconds and last week about 10 minutes) my 630 lost signal on that channel. To my surprise after the signal was lost, the recording was also lost.
I thought it would have kept what was recorded to the point of interruption.
I've never seen this action in the years I've had this 630. Have you?
Incidentally, I was able to get the ending of both shows off the net.
