Every time it rains I have signal issues....not impressed...

Did you call to report it?
Rain should not effect signal unless it is a downpour which is usually short duration. If it does you need your dish repointed.
I wish they were more forth coming with info concerning new channels, and launch them in a timely fashion.
Yup, I reported it. They sent a guy out to re-point the dish. Last rainstorm it started acting up again but not nearly as bad as the initial instances....
Short rant..........$3 increase on $20 package. 15% increase in a bill during a recessionary period! Do I even need satellite TV? Yeah for that interactive weather feature that is hours old!
price increases...

Hi: I have to agree, the prices keep going up & up. If it were not for the senior at home, I would disconnect the @#$% thing.
pay per view

Shaw Directs pay per view channels and selection sucks. It only got worse by removing the preview channel for a slideshow channel. They should have stuck with viewers choice. Thats all I have to say about Shaw.
Firmware Delays...

Firmware delays. Tsk tsk

The best part is they are new movies and some of them only have the title, there is zero detail on what the movie is about. You think someone would fix simple stuff like this a long time ago.

Ah, we all can't wait for the detailed 14 day guide as part of the great upgrade coming "soon"
Comeing Soon

Shaw Direct seems to be the "comeing soon" sat company...don't give up on us just wait a bit more for all the good stuff..... comeing soon:D
Too little, too late...I'm leaving Shaw Direct on Sept 19th for Telus Satellite and the great HD PVR with all the features and options that you could want...and have been waiting soooooo long for from Shaw. Good Luck people! ;)
Good job!

Love my TSTV 9241 but still miss my crisp DVR530 pictures.
Agreed, too little too late.
Trust me, you DO NOT want the new firmware (throws pos reciever out window)
The new firmware should be great! Record everything of a program/movie except the 10 minute conclusion or record the wrong program due to the schedule being inaccurate. 2 things I notice all the time.!
I'm very tired of waiting to get a decent working PVR from ShawDirect. They keep postponing the release of their firmware and the hardware sucks on top of it.

I jumped ship today after years of being with ShawDirect. Next Saturday Bell is coming to hook up their dish. Hopefully I will enjoy it much better than I have the starchoice/ShawDirect flavor. It's too bad, because ShawDirect has a lot going for itself, but the empty promises and severely flawed hardware forced me to leave. I'll be calling them next week to cancel my subscription.
Call now..the sooner the better..it takes 30 days for the cancellation to take effect Funkytown. I'm paying for a week extra after Telus Sat. is installed at my house.
That's a good idea. I'll call them now. Thanks.
Why the heck don't they have a search function yet for TV shows? This is ridiculous, I even got this with Eastlink cable. Also, the Eastlink cable guide would indicate whether or not a TV episode was new, and what year it was made in (i.e., New, 2009).
