Hey,

I'm new to this forum and I've just joined because of my recent acquisition of a Toshiba 50H82. I think the TV is great but I was expecting it to look a little bit better with my satellite. As for DVDs, it looks amazing so that's not an issue.

I'm considering buying one of the set-up DVDs, but I'm not sure which one. The AVIA disc is twice the price of the S&V one. Which one is better? Is the S&V disc good enough that its not worth dishing out the extra cash for the AVIA disc?

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

damaster, welcome to the forum. The S&V disk doesn't have quite as many test patterns, etc as AVIA, but many people have found it more than adequate.

If you haven't done so already, check out this post on --> What you need to do to your new HDTV.

While you're in the HTFAQ section, take a look at the other FAQs which are usually of interest to those new to HDTV.

yup, that was the first thing I checked out here and that's where I learned about the set-up discs. I'm just trying to decide between the AVIA and/or the S&V.
