This week, Samsung announced the coming of the company’s newest smartphone, the Galaxy Note7.

The phone is being promoted for its water resistant body, S Pen (IP68), security that combines Samsung Knox with biometric authentication with a new iris scanning feature, and HDR video streaming capabilities.

The S Pen

The Galaxy Note7 S Pen allows users to write memos on the phone without unlocking the screen by using Screen off memo and simply pinning the memo to the Always On Display.

The S Pen, which comes with a 0.7mm tip and improved pressure sensitivity, gives users the ability to easily create and share GIF animations with Smart Select, among other functions.

When it comes to security, the Galaxy Note7 provides heightened peace of mind and privacy to users by using advanced fingerprint and iris scanning technology.

The Galaxy Note7 is also said to offer additional authentication options that can be used interchangeably depending on how users are using the phone, where they are, or what they’re doing.

The Galaxy Note7 features a curved 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED screen and is ready to stream HDR video. The phone also features Game Pack, available through Google Play, and is paired with the new Gear VR powered by Oculus, so users can also experience premium virtual reality almost anywhere.

The Note7 also comes with a powerful processor and can be used with the new high-resolution (3840×1920) Gear 360 camera, to capture, edit and share 360-degree images videos on the go.

The Galaxy Note7 will be available starting on August 19, and will be offered in Blue Coral, Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium and Black Onyx.
