Serious gaming enthusiasts now have a high-performance laptop geared to their needs: the Samsung Series 7 Gamer.

The passionate PC gamer will enjoy features such as a 17.3-inch full HD LCD display, high quality Dolby Home Theater surround sound, rich NVIDIA Geforce graphics, a 3rd generation Intel Core i7 processor, and a unique dial to enable easily transition between four modes.

Todd Bouman, vice president of marketing at Samsung Enterprise Business Division adds: "The Series 7 Gamer offers all the elements of a high-powered gaming machine with the convenience of the mode-changing dial, which enables you to switch off components in order to save power and have a quieter experience when you're using it as a more traditional laptop."

What happens in gaming mode?

"When the product is in gaming mode, it takes the experience to the next level by optimizing the graphics and sound, turning on a pulsating light in the speakers and highlighting the gaming keys in red, which truly allows users to immerse themselves in a game," answers Bouman.

Furthermore, the Windows key and touchpad are disabled when a game is inserted, so the possibility of accidentally hitting the wrong part of the keyboard while playing, is not an issue.

If you need regular computing, the general mode is available and by switching to the quiet mode, sounds are disabled with the fan turned off, plus you can enter power saver mode to save on the battery.

With a retail price of  $1,899.99, you can expect much more. The Series 7 Gamer also offers rapid start-up times and with the inclusion of Samsung's FastStart technology, the laptop wakes up from hybrid sleep mode in as little as just two seconds. The Quick Boot takes you from the cold to ready in 19 seconds.

Samsung.com notes that resellers such as Amazon, Newegg and TigerDirect have it available now.
