Samsung today announced that the Galaxy Alpha, the latest in its lineup of Galaxy devices, will be released in Canada via Bell and Virgin Mobile on September 26.

Price-wise, it’ll set you back $149.95 on a 2-year term or $700 outright.

Boasting a sleek metal exterior, the Alpha is touted as one of Samsung’s slimmest devices ever, coming in at just 7mm thick, despite its 4.7” screen size. It also comes equipped with a pretty powerful rear camera — at 12 MP, you’ll be getting great quality shots out of a relatively tiny device.

You can also count on longer battery life due to what Samsung is calling “Ultra Power Saving Mode”, meaning you can switch the display so it appears in just black and white and runs only the most important of background apps, such as calling and messaging.

Workin’ on your fitness? The Alpha also comes armed with Samsung’s S Health app, which gives you real time information about your daily activity like how many steps you’ve taken or calories you’ve burned. Of course, this data also syncs up with your Gear 2 or Gear Fit, if you have one.

The Galaxy Alpha will be available in Charcoal Black, Dazzling White and Frosted Gold starting September 26 through Bell Mobility and Virgin Mobile, and in the coming months with additional carriers.
