Samsung Electronics Canada announced its new lineup of Windows 8 products, including the ATIV family of laptops, tablets and smartphones.

The new family includes: the Samsung ATIV Smart PC, ATIV Smart PC Pro and ATIV S smartphone, as well as the Series 5 ULTRA Touch and the All-In-One PC Series 7.

The touch technology theme for Windows 8 along with advanced engineering and stylish design should push the buy buttons.

"With today's arrival of Windows 8, use of laptops, tablets and mobile devices will change, leading to a different demand from customers for advanced touch functionality, but still maintaining some traditional common input methods such as keyboard and mouse," said Craig McLennan, VP Consumer Electronics, Samsung Canada.

McLennan continues: "Through our leadership in design and technology and Microsoft's leadership in operating systems, together we are enabling customers to pursue their passions with the most beautiful design, powerful performance and ease of use."

Next week, retailers will have stock of the Samsung ATIV Smart PC priced at $699, and the Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro, which goes for $1,149. Both feature detachable keyboard-docking systems and the renowned S Pen for real writing and on the desk and on-the-go.

The Samsung ATIV S Smartphone with a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display delivers a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and LTE connectivity, which will delight the gamers and power users alike. Bell, Rogers, Telus and Sasktel each expect shipments in November.
