Samsung Canada wants students to live large with the Samsung GALAXY MEGA and to make that happen, they plan to launch it before the school year begins. That means we'll be getting pricing details and the like from Bell, TELUS and Rogers in the next three weeks.

The GALAXY MEGA is a new addition to the Android phablet line, which balances the portability and convenience of a smartphone with the power, multitasking capabilities and 6.3-inch HD screen that a tablet might offer.

"We are proud to introduce Canadians to the GALAXY MEGA - a device that will truly enable them to live large," said Paul Brannen, Vice President Enterprise Business Division Samsung Electronics Canada Inc. "At Samsung, we have worked hard to ensure that we offer Canadians a broad variety of high quality mobile devices designed to meet their individual needs - which is why we are so excited to add the GALAXY MEGA to our line up."

Powered with Android OS 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the new phablet comes well-loaded with a 1.7Ghz dual-core processor, 16GB internal memory, 1.5 GB RAM and a 3,200 mAh battery. The 8MP camera and a 1.9MP front-facing camera are helped with a variety of camera modes, including 'Sound and Shot', which captures 9 seconds of sound and voice together as the picture is taken, and 'Sports' to get the quick-action images.

The Multi Window/Split View allows you to run two apps on the same 6.3-inch screen so that Email, Messaging and S Planner are always handy.
