Home improvement retailer, RONA has just unveiled a brand new website and mobile application to provide customers with a more user-friendly shopping experience.

The new rona.ca also attempts to be more interactive and informative while guiding customers through their renovation or decoration projects. RONA's shoppers also have a chance to evaluate, comment and share experiences on almost 30,000 products online.

RONA's new mobile application, available to iPhone users, provides access to all products online, inventory availability at the customer's chosen store, promotions and includes a bar code reader for easier price comparison.

"The new mobile application uses advanced technology that enables RONA to continue innovating with the aim of offering customers an efficient, engaging, modern and distinctive shopping experience," said Louise Levesque, RONA's Senior Director, e-Business.

To celebrate the accomplishments of Canada's Olympic athletes in London, RONA (TSX:RON) is partnering with the David Suzuki Foundation to plant almost 50,000 trees across the country.

The Quebec-based retailer and distributor continues to be an acquisition target, having recently rejected a $1.8 billion takeover bid from US retail giant, Lowe's (NYSE:LOW).
