Has this been officially announced?

For years Rogers feed out a lot of crap suggesting that all the games were in HD when in fact they were not. I know because I signed up only to learn later that not all games were HD.

Needless to say, I wasn't happy!

I see they are going to have NFL Red Zone for an extra $50, provided you subscribe to the Sports pack

Rogers Super Sports Pak: Every NFL snap in HD plus hockey, basketball and more

By: Rogers_Richard

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

You see, not only is my favourite sports team – the Buffalo Bills – playing down the street here in Toronto tonight, but the pre-season game also means week one of the 2010 NFL season is just around the corner.

I love NFL football: bus trips, fantasy football pools and the buzzing of non-stop alerts pushed to my smartphone. Each Sunday through February is blocked off to watch the pre-game shows, the early and late games — and, yes, sometimes Sunday and Monday Night Football.

If you’re like me – or you have a sports-fan in your life that resembles the above – put down that Fantasy Draft Guide and listen up. Rogers has a way for you to not only stay on top of every NFL snap but also every second of your favourite hockey, basketball, baseball and NASCAR teams through our Super Sports Pak.

What’s great about the Super Sports Pak? Whether you’re a fan of a certain team or the Rams’ rookie quarterback, Rogers Cable customers can get the out-of-market games from across North America that you simply wouldn’t have access to unless you were living in, say, Dallas, Green Bay or Indianapolis.

The 2-minute drill

For $29.95 a month, the Super Sports Pak gets you:

* NFL Sunday Ticket, this year broadcasting every NFL game in HD – that’s up to 13 games every Sunday. (At this time, HD for every game is available for Ontario customers only).
* More than 3,000 hockey, baseball and basketball games from venues across the continent through NHL Centre Ice, MLB Extra Innings, NBA League Pass and OHL Action Pak.
* NASCAR Hotpass. In-depth race coverage including access to exclusive views with in-car cameras, unedited communications between drivers and crew, as well as the speed and horsepower during races.
* US College Football. Catch your favourite teams such as Alabama, Texas, Florida, Boise State, Ohio State, TCU, Iowa, Penn State and so much more.
* Premium Canadian Soccer League and select Major League Soccer games.

Rogers 2010 Rookies

In addition to the Super Sports Pak, we’re also excited to tell you about some new additions to our NFL lineup this year, including:

* NFL Sunday Ticket Online. If you subscribe to the Super Sports Pak or just NFL Sunday Ticket you can also watch every game live on your computer at NFL.com for a one-time fee of $30.
* NFL RedZone. Poolies rejoice! This new channel gives you live coverage of every touchdown from every game, plus highlights and stats all on one channel, for a one-time cost of $49. This also gives you online access to RedZone via Rogers On Demand Online (online access available in October).
* NFL Network online. Not near a TV? Not a problem. Watch the NFL network 24-hours a day on Rogers on Demand Online at no additional cost to Rogers Digital Cable subscribers (available in October).

Will NHL Center Ice online (through nhl.com) also be offered? For the last 3 years it has been through Rogers, and I use it all the time as I travel frequently.
It’s offered with the purchase of Center Ice in the US, as well as through Bell.

Just a heads up that Rogers now appears to be using their full set of 24 HD channels located from 361-384 rather than just the first 9 also located from 490-498. These extra HD channels were added sometime last year but haven't been used until now. 361-373 are being utilized for NFL Sunday Ticket, which as noted will have every game in HD. It also looks like a pretty solid slate for NCAA Football games will be available in HD on channel 383 this weekend. These include TSU-OS on Saturday Night and BS-VT on Monday Night. Last year typically only 1 or 2 Saturday Afternoon games were available in HD (and never the Saturday night ESPN game). Given the expanded HD content in both NFL and NCAA I will be resubscribing sometime today, just in time for the long weekend :)

Once again, Rogers is in need of a channel realignment/overhaul.
They should start by remove all the duplicate that are between ch 2 and 99, and then move every channel (100+) back so it start at channel 2, that way they could add space in each groups of channel. And I don't know why ROD (ch. 100) need to be duplicate on 6 other channel, they only advertise it on ch. 100.

They could also remove TV Guide (the channel not the IPG), channel 3 in my area, we don't need that channel with digital.

Center Ice/Sports pak

Hockey season is just around the corner...I've been hearing rumbles that you can no longer get a specific part of the sports pak like sunday ticket, center ice, etc on it's own, and you can now only get the entire sports pak.

First of all, is this true? Second of all, if I basically cancel the package after the hockey season, say 8 months from now, how does that $240 compare to what the center ice price has been in the past?(Wasn't center ice normally about $200 anyway?)

Thirdly and finally, does anyone know..if you get the sports pak do you still get access to the online NHL gamecenter? I think you used to with a center ice subscription but i'm not sure if it's changed.

Thanks for the help guys!

The sports pack is a better deal. There is a 4-month commitment. I kept it for 8 months and then canceled it. You are correct in that it would have cost $200 just for Centre Ice. But with the sports pack, you also get NFL, NBA, and even the OHL if you are into junior hockey. Last year they did include the free subscription to NHL on-line.
