Yes, I have been having intermittent problems with the SMTP for about 10 days now. I googled about it and had some success by changing the SMTP port to 587 from 25. Then it stopped working and I switched back to 25. It's OK for the last 48 hours or so.
Not sure what is going on with it. It's annoying to say the least.
(using Thunderbird 3.1.2 on both machines at home. Oddly, the wife's computer seems to be having the problem more than my own comp)
