Rogers removed the US networks from its basic packages last year. It appears to be part of a campaign by TV service providers to remove US channels from Canadian services. Rogers has also been inflating prices significantly by removing popular channels from its lower tier services and moving them to higher cost packages or optional theme packs.

I'm so tired of this "anti-US" mentality. not every shows/movies air on Canadian channels. We NEED US channels. In fact I think every channels on the planet (at least the English and French, specially, from the UK, Australia and France) need to be accessible, the concept of geo-blocking and country limitation need to stop once in for all, we're not in the 80s anymore...

Many of the not available shows and channels are at their own request, they sell the rights to their channels, and if they want more money then they don't sell the rights to any Canadian carriers until they offer more money. They make the programming, they have the right to sell the rights to whoever they want. Sometimes people like Bell have the rights, but don't use them for various reasons so the program/channel is not available here. Paramount + is a good example, some shows were sold separately to a Canadian carrier (like Crave), so they are not able to carry that show on Paramount +in Canada until the rights expire.
Another thing is when Crave carries a show like The Expanse for example, then after two seasons Amazon Prime buys the rights to the show and so unless you get Amazon Prime, you can't watch the show's later seasnons.
