It seen that we got 2 new channel on Rogers Ignite TV. I notice them yesterday.
Channel 116: France 24 English (wish we had the french feed also).
Channel 830: Current Time (multicultural channel in non-english/french language, from the letters on the screen, it look Ukrainian).

The new channel 830, Current Time, is actually a Russian language channel from Prague. It is therefore not a Kremlin friendly channel and has been added by different services lately after many pro-Kremlin propaganda channels like RT and Channel 1 Russia were removed.

I notice it a few days ago too, I didn't had the chance to post about it, but I was planning too, it seen it's replacing RT that was removed. I like NHK World, I watch it on occasion, Usually from the official website or the Roku app.

At first I thought I was the only one noticing new channels or the only one that care about getting new channels. :)

Just saw this on my latest bill

Starting September 1, 2022, BET will no longer be available as part of your TV or theme package. If you subscribe to this channel on its own, we will remove it as of this date and it will no longer appear on your bill. No further action is required by you. If you currently have BET selected as a Flex channel, please visit www.rogers.com/igniteflex and replace it with another available channel of your choice. You can swap Flex channels every 30 days. The rest of your Rogers TV package will remain the same. This change is made in accordance with the CRTC Television Service Provider Code. If you have any questions or no longer wish to subscribe to your TV service, please reach out to us in any of the ways listed in the Contact Us section of this bill.

It appears that Canadian TV services are trying to purge all US stations from their lineup. I think that's about one a year for the last 10 or so years. The ones that remain are gradually being removed from basic lineups or packages and being placed in extra cost packages. The bottom line is that consumer value is decreasing, and costs are increasing due to both basic package price increases and the need to add removed channels back at extra cost when not deleted entirely. We are pretty close to cancelling Rogers TV and looking for alternate TV services. Most of our viewing this Summer is on streaming services (special thanks to Prime for their $.99 cent channel sale) so it won't be much of a shift.

This, more cost effective for Rogers to buy the content and package it themselves. They will do it to a many channels as they can. There are a few which will be too difficult for them to do this to due to high popularity (A&E and TLC come to mind) but they will do their best to try. Wouldn't be surprised if Corus or Rogers brought back BET but under license with Canadian ownership down the line similar to OWN or Lifetime.

That's sad, I didn't know it was planned to be removed, I exchange one of the channel I had to get BET 2 months ago, now because it was removed, I have one less Flex slot available. This happen every time, sometime I get the Flex slot back a month or two after, it's still annoying.

If you're willing to deal with a customer service rep you can probably get that slot changed to a different channel without having to wait for it to open up again on its own.

I'm surprised about BET going AWOL on Ignite.
I'm still on Rogers Digital service and BET is alive and still here.

Noticed the following on my February 28th bill: I have the Premier bundle.

Occasionally, we make changes to our channel offerings to reflect the evolving viewership trends of our customers. Starting April 23, 2023, the Real Estate and Broadcast News channels will no longer be available and will be removed from your TV package as of this date. No further action is required by you.

I have just been reviewing the Rogers Ignite offering in NL after some recent promotions sent to me and a visit of some Rogers reps to my home today. However I do not see the US networks ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, or Fox listed.

I did an online chat and was provided the attached channel list. These networks aren't listed.

Can anyone confirm whether these are included or not?

They are part of the "Prime Time Pack" which is $3/mo. You can see all the channels and the various theme packs if you visit the Rogers website and put in your address and click on the Channels Tab. You are also able to search for any channels there. The Prime Time Pack has been like this with IgniteTV since July 7 2021.

Here's a sample link. I'm not sure if it works in NL.

OK, thanks! I did find those stations listed there as part of the "Prime Time Pack". I hadn't been looking at the theme packs at all. Previously when we had Rogers several years ago the US stations (ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, and Fox) were included in the main package, as is the case with our current Bell Aliant package. If we wanted time shifting or western stations a theme pack was required, which I find is generally useless now with time shifting and on-demand options.

Thank you!
