Rogers High speed network now covers 97% of Manitoba

Jump to Latest

Rogers Wireless announced today the expansion of its high speed HSPA+ wireless network in Manitoba.

The announcement means 97 per cent of the Manitoba population will have access to data download speeds of up to 21 megabits per second.

Readers should note the 21 Mbps is simply a theoretical maximum and that users are more likely to achieve average download speeds of about 3.5-8 Mbps, significantly less than 21 Mbps advertised but still about twice the average speed 2-4 Mbps that could be achieved previously.

The following graphic shows in brown where Rogers HSPA+ (3G Voice and Data) network is now available in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The lighter colour represents areas where only the GSM/EDGE (2G Voice and Data) network is available.
