Hello all I just wanted to fill you in on a scam, oopps I mean mistake rogers has made with my bill- If your like me and tens of thousands of other people who order Mcleans magazine at a discounted price through rogers (they own Mcleans). Check your bill because initially the charge will be added to you cell phone account and billed through your cell phone account. Later they will show it separately all on it own as they do with cable. Pay close attention as to the fact that it will still show up on the cell phone section of the bill and they will ding you for it twice. Hey I'll admit $3 is not a lot of money, but when 50 thousand people are sending it in every month it adds up. I dont know how i missed it for 5 years but i finally noticed ( they do hide it well within the cell phone features you pay for). After talking to them they said they'd order an investigation and call me back within 48 hours. 1 week went by and i called them, the rep said that the issue had been resolved and my account had been credited 18 dollars. I said 18 dollars only cover 6 mnths of double billing what about about the last few years before that - the rep put me on hold for 25 mnts to wait for a manager. I got frustrated and hung up. - I can only imagine the manager pasing back and forth in his/her office and rehearsing what they were to tell me.
After calling again 2 days later the manger again said that the issue had been resolved with the 18 dollar credit at which point i calmly said, 6 mnths of credit simply wont do and i want the rest of it. She then told me that I only had 90 days to dispute a bill. I again said this just wont do it was clearly your mistake (rogers that is) she put me on hold and returned within a few minute to apolagize and give me a 100 dollar credit on the account. I said thank you have a nice day and that was the end of it.

I must say though that I have been their customer for 13 years now they really do apprecciate my business and resolve any issues I have always in my favour - but I never yell on the phone at them.

It wouldnt surprise me if this was happening to 1000's of people and thats why I'm posting this thread.

Stockholm Syndrome much. Just kidding. I thought for sure you were going to tear them a new one. Anyway good for you. It does concern me the amount of incorrect billing that happens in this industry. I wonder if Rogers treats these unclaimed billing errors like a tip jar? :rolleyes:

I am convinced they do. You dont actually think they going to go over every ones bill and correct it do you. They will simply let it keep going until some one finds out and give ehm the old " but you only have 90 days to dispute a bill" story.
