In a notice to its Digital Cable customers Rogers Cable has announced that, effective November 1st, it will no longer offer HDNet.

Rogers is the second major Canadian distributor to drop HDNet from its line-up in the last year. Bell Satellite removed HDNet from its offerings last December after a contract dispute between the two firms.

Rogers did not provide its customers with any rationale for why it was dropping the U.S. general interest television channel from its HD Specialty and HD Nature Themes pack.

HDNet, which has been broadcasting exclusively in high-definition since 2001, is still available in Rogers territory from Shaw Direct.
