Despite the article saying that Rogers has no interest in acquiring a controlling interest in Cogeco, I think that while that may be true today, it may not necessarily be true tomorrow. Unless Cogeco wises up with their HD programming, well....maybe the sooner the better.
I think their long term strategy is to eventually buy control of Cogeco when and if the Audet family ever decide to sell. It could even be a pre-emptive move to prevent SHAW from coming back to Ontario in a big way. The Rogers family has had a good relationship with the Audet 's so they will likely get first dibs at it anyway. Rogers lost out on Mountain Cable because their price was too low.
