Rogers Cable, Canada's largest cable provider, today announced the addition of the Big Ten Network to its Ontario digital cable line-up in both standard and high definition. Atlantic provinces will get the standard definition version only.

The Big Ten Network is a U.S. regional sports network which launched in August of 2007. The network, which is owned by the Big Ten collegiate athletic conference and Fox Cable Networks, is focused on sports and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) programming.

The network provides access to collegiate athletic and academic programs, such as conference sports events including football, men's and women's basketball, NCAA-Sponsored sports, and Big Ten Championships; original programs in academics, the arts and sciences; campus activities; and associated personalities. Sports programming includes live coverage of events along with news, highlights and analysis, all complemented by hours of university-produced campus programming. This season the network is expected to offer approximately 35 football games; 105 regular season men's basketball games; and 55 women's basketball games.

The station will be part of the Rogers Sports Theme Pak and will be available in free preview until January 14, 2010. The free preview is currently available on channel 385. Subsequently the Big Ten Network will be available on channels 546 (HD) and 408 (SD).
