Silicon Valley-based Rocket Fuel, which provides artificial-intelligence advertising solutions for digital marketers, has set up shop in Toronto.

Increasing demand from Canadian advertisers fueled the international expansion particularly from the consumer packaged goods (CPG), retail, mobile/telecom and travel sectors, said Rocket Fuel.

Senior Account Executive Riaz Sheikh, who formerly worked in senior sales roles at Yahoo!, Outdoor Broadcast Network, and Travelzoo, will head the new Canadian division.

Rocket Fuel, now with 12 offices worldwide, including London, New York, Detroit, and Boston, said further expansion is on the agenda for 2012.

Forbes listed the digital marketing firm, which was founded in 2008, #22 on its Most Promising Companies in America List for 2011.
