Ricoh Canada has launched a cloud hosting platform for a suite of software-based services and is now offering Enterprise Content Management.

PEER 1 will provide the Web hosting services and cloud architecture for Ricoh's RCloud platform in Toronto, Canada.

Geared towards small to mid-sized organizations, Enterprise Content Management (ECM) eliminates silos by managing and storing content so it becomes accessible to multiple systems, departments and staff members. Content will be scanned and imported into the RCloud Services platform, where documents can be searched, accessed and shared to meet the company's objectives.

Eric Fletcher, Vice President of Marketing at Ricoh, continues: "We've removed the need for large, up-front capital outlays and the challenges of on-premise infrastructure. Add to that the strength and reach of our truly national service coverage model, as well as out-of-the-box functionality targeting specific key verticals, and the result is a truly compelling case for RCloud Services: ECM."

Ricoh expects customers to achieve higher cost savings versus a traditional software solution model, which typically involves deployment strategies, onsite support and application administration. The cloud-based functionality of ECM allows Ricoh customers to offload time-consuming tasks such as upgrades, maintenance, and issue resolution, while ensuring high network uptime and information accessibility and security - all delivered within a monthly operating budget.

Headquartered in Tokyo, the Ricoh Group specializes in office imaging, print solutions, and digital camera equipment in more than 200 countries. The company recorded annual worldwide sales of $23 billion USD in 2012.
