hi guys i was wondering if there was a way of getting around this problem. i bought a 320g external hard drive, i was wondering if i partioned it so that i could record shows or movies from my hd bell receiver and also use the same hdd for my computer, i download movies and place them in the hdd to watch on my big screen hd tv.

This has been asked and answered several times. The answer is no. FWIW, it's not even worth considering for a 320GB drive. A Bell HD PVR will fill that drive quickly. Hard drive prices are rock bottom right now and there are lots of deals on recommended external drives or drives and external enclosures so a second drive is the way to go.
