Hello all,

I've read a few posts already on this topic, I just want some clarity for a couple things. First off, I understand that receiver sharing or account stacking is not illegal - but rather is frowned upon by the satellite companies. My situation is that I'm moving out of the house and would like to take a SC receiver with me. I need to install a satellite first at my new location, and would like to know if I need a specific satellite type in order for the receiver to work? Does the satellite need to be the same model or have to be identical to the one at home where the receiver is activated? I think I read something along those lines in a different post - but someone then said that the satellites didn't have to be similar? So I'm confused. I'm looking to purchase a used satellite that I can install but I'd like to make sure things will work before I go and do that.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
