9241 Playback Problems

I have a 9241 and recently I have started having problems on replaying recordings. Occasionally some playbacks starts skipping and pausing. Before I call Bell, would it be worth trying to reformat the disk to see if it solves the problem ?

Streaming = connect it up to a satellite dish and provide a stream of data from the satellite. This allows the receiver to download firmware and reset itself.

Ok. So basically leave it on so it can fix itself. Does this take about 12 hours? and once its complete.. what do i do? a hard reset? or pull out plug?

Thx for your help.

9241 red light flashing or blinking

Hi. Sorry I don't speak and write in English very well.

Here is an easy and quick way to fix red light flashing or blinking.

If you have an old smart card, introduce it in the slot and you will have an error code. It will give you access to the menu to be able to proceed with the clear NVRAM process as per post #1.

Note: a credit or debit card will probably do the job.

Hope it help

Saving content of drive.

My 9242 just froze while I was out. I pressed the power button to reset the receiver, and got error message 760: "...the drive has become corrupted...all content will have to be deleted at this time." Is there any way to save the content?

My Bell 9241 PVR was complaining it couldn't record/access the PVR upon booting and I couldn't access menu/functions either saying it didn't have data capability. After a lengthy call, which ended with offerings, the Bell tech couldn't or wouldn't give me the instructions to format the hard drive but YOU DID! Thank you sooooooo much!

Bell 9400 PVR

We have two Bell 9400 - should be able to record two channels and watch one at the same time. Now on one we can only record one and watch one channel. If we are recording on the second 9400 we can't watch television without cancelling the recording. Is this a formatting issue or are they "toast"?

If it was a hard disk issue you wouldn't be able to record at all. Sounds more like a dish or cabling issue allowing only one tuner to be available.

You cannot do this. You only have two tuners. This means you can record two programmes and watch a programme previously recorded, or you can watch a live programme and record another. You cannot record two programmes and watch another live because that would require three tuners, which you don't have.

First off...57 is correct...each 9400 can record two live shows and you can view a recorded show or as you say it can record one and watch a live show.

As far as the other problem...try unplugging the second 9400 (for one minute) as it sounds to me like the second 9400 is only operating with one tuner.

Sometimes forcing a hard boot resolves this.

You can also try just pushing the top left button behind the door and holding it for about ten seconds.
