I have two 8300's and over the past week or two, it seems that about once a day, pressing the Guide button will incorrectly bring up the awful Quick Start menu rather than the IPG.

In the settings I have it set to show IPG on first click of Guide.

And I'm sure I'm not somehow double-pressing the Guide button.

A couple of times I've been recording two shows, and press Guide, and I get the message that I must stop one recording to proceed (forget exact wording).

If I exit and try again, same message. Finally, after one recording stops, I'll press Guide, get the QS once, and after that the Guide button will revert back to normal operation, i.e. showing IPG, for the rest of the day.

Pretty annoying when I have to wait for an hour or two to browse the IPG, and maybe program a recording for later.

Anyone else notice this?

If you're in the IPG press the exit key to leave the IPG instead of Guide and you won't be taken to the QS menu. (I guess if you have the QS Guide come up with only one press of the guide button, then there's not much you can do but wait for the recordings to end or stop one of the recordings.) Try to stay out of the IPG when recording two programmes, or use the various other channels or timeshift channels to preclude two simultaneous recordings while you're watching TV whenever possible. With the PVR, you should try to watch pre-recorded programmes instead of surfing.

As to the other item of your QS guide coming up with one press of the guide button, perhaps you have some IR interference which is causing the guide button to be "repeated" bringing up the QS menu. See the following thread on that topic and possible solutions. If you haven't already, do a reboot of the PVR.

I can vouch for what the OP describes - I also have my QSG set to come up after the IPG, but every once in a while - maybe once a month or so - I will be recording two shows and press the Guide button, and I get the message that both tuners are in use and I have cancel a recording.

If I don't need one of the recordings, I will, otherwise I wait until one of the recordings complete, then press Guide. Either way, the next press of Guide brings up the QSG rather than the IPG, which explains the tuner message.

Once I exit the QSG and press Guide again, the IPG goes back to it's normal behaviour again and all is well in the world, generally for a few more weeks. I have done regular reboots as well, but it doesn't seem have any effect, as this has been happening (rarely) since the sequence option for the QSG was introduced.

Not sure what causes it, I just chalk it up to another bug in the software. It's pretty rare, so I don't get all worked up over it... ;)
