I have a DCT6200 at the moment hooked up via DVI(hdmi)/RCA to my LED tv, which works great. However i want to add a Hauppauge HD-PVR so i record and save hockey games while im at work or away. Can i just run a set of component+optical cables to the Hd-pvr and leave the DVI+RCA hooked up to the TV or do i have to daisy chain through it. Do all of the outputs go at the same time or will having the DVI plugged in disable the component output. Im sorry if this is in the wrong forum i did not know where to post as it a bit of a two pronged question.

thanks for any help someone can provide

There should be no problem hooking it up directly (not 'daisy chained') but you might run into copyright protection issues. The only thing you can do is hook it up and try it. Let us know how you make out, either way.

I have used the Hauppauge to record from a 3400 (a Superchannel movie I had recorded) and there was no problem. Recording directly does not seem to be a problem either.
