Namely, are they worth it? Recently I ordered a cooler from Amazon for my slim after noticing my console gets quite warm in the back. I only paid 19.99 for it but it's better than nothing I suppose.
Anyone using one of these?
best way (safest way as well) to cool a console is to buy a USB laptop cooling pad (Zalman NC-2000 for example) and place the console on that. Most of the heat is from bad air flow underneath the unit, as they rest very close to the surface. Plus if the thing still overheats you didn't "modify" the unit.
I bought one from walmart that attaches to the side of the ps3. It has its own power supply and a thermostat type dial to set the temp it will kick in. I forget the brand name but I am quite happy with it. I honestly think I can tell the difference in temperature by the touch. Maybe I am tricking myself.
The only thing is it is a little noisy, but that is what the TV volume is for.
