Have had my MediaRoom PVR since mid February and started filling it with recordings mainly from PBS HD. It's been down to the 10-17% available space for a few months. Went away for a week and when I came back, got around to watching the recordings. Most of them that did play were showing blank (black screen). Rebooted the system (via the menu) and found that just about 3/4 of the recordingas vanished from the recorded menu. Not terribly upset as I can get most of them from different sources but just a heads up not to get too attached to what you have stored and not watched. Only real big burp so far.

After a reboot it can take up to 5 minutes for the recordings list to repopulate completely. Check it now after it's been up a while and see if they are still there.

Also be sure to check it from the PVR itself and not a networked STB. Sometimes when you have a large number of programs it can take a bit to exchange the data.

Recordings are definitely gone after the reboot. The free disk space also increased from the 10-19% range to the 70% one so I don't expect they're there anymore. Did check about 24 hours after the reboot and they're not there. Was checked at the PVR too (we have the PVR and the tenants the STB). The now-gone recordings were listed before[/i] the reboot but gone immediately after.

No particular rhyme or reason as to what got deleted and what didn't. The ones that didn't ranged from months old to not-so-old but the new tenants' recent Two and a Half Men were there after the reboot.

You're sure your tenant didn't delete the recordings without your knowledge? They have control over the PVR just as you do. It seems very peculiar for random recordings just to disappear.

There was a way to check deleted history with Minerva to check these problems out but I don't think Mediaroom has that available unfortunately.

I realise the tenants could have deleted the recordings and thought of that possibility but what is puzzling is why the 50 or so deleted (or rather, vanished) recordings would still have appeared on the listing immediately before the reboot as deleted recordings tend to disappear immediately after deletion. They couldn't have deleted ~50 recordings so fast.

I do seem to remember that there was a duplicate (at least in the recording listings - of the James Taylor/Carole King Live at the Troubador show) which I know I did not double record. Was listed 2x before the reboot and both gone later. Maybe the directory got corrupted.

Some of the ones deleted were some I had "protected" too.
