I had a 3100, a 5800 and a 5900 in the house. Thinking of going HD. Question, if I get a HD receiver, am I allowed to sell the 3100 or the 5800. There are quite a few for sale (at decent prices) on certain famous auction sites. Not sure if Bev allows that anymore.

Edit by 57 - 2011.10.25. You should not sell or buy 9200 or 6100 receivers since they are being phased out and BTV will not activate them. See link below for more on the topic: (They can still be used for OTA so they may have some value to someone interested in that option)

HD Receivers for Bell

Hi
I hope this question is OK to post here. I am a Bell subscriber currently using Bell activated 3100 and Dish 4500C receivers. Both work great. Now have upgraded the TV to 42" Panasonic HDTV with HDMI inputs so am looking at HD channels. It seems the Dish network has a lot more HD receivers and they are available on "that other site" for reasonable prices. Bell CSR was no help on this. Can I activate a newer Dish HD or HD PVR (for example the 921, 942, 622) on my Bell service?? What about the older Dish 501 PVR?
Any information is most welcome.
