Okay so basically I just rented a HD Box from Rogers and I hooked it up and plugged it all in, but it wont activate it shows no time. Now I'm wondering if this is because the source cable is split (As in the cable in wire is shared between two TVs which the other wire is a HD box from Rogers as well) Could this be a problem? Or what could be the problem otherwise?

Yeah, and even called them to re-activate it now it just shows ---- on the box and no time or anything.

then I do guess that there is a signal problem. You gotta call Rogers for an appointment.

Check the signal strength and S/N ratio on the other STB. Then connect the new STB without the splitter temporarily, as close to the demarcation point in the home as possible. Here's the SA FAQ.

k so I did it and got -16, should I be getting a better splitter now or what? I'm a bit of a noob lmao.

You can call Rogers and they'll make sure the signal is appropriate for all your devices. They will supply appropriate splitters, etc.

Is there only one splitter? If there is a VCR or DVD recorder connected through RF connection between the HD box it will cause a problem, I've seen this
