Primus Canada is offering consumers and businesses in Ontario more choice with an expansion of its broadband and voice network to nine communities around the Greater Toronto Area.

This represents a 15 percent increase in serviceable homes and businesses as the network expands to Mississauga, Unionville, Aurora, Maple, Markham, Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Thornhill and Woodbridge.

The May 6th announcement, brings unlimited high speed Internet, up to 16Mbps, and traditional phone service with unique features to these areas at affordable prices. Businesses can also take advantage of unlimited high speed Internet or Primus Business Ethernet services.

"Primus Canada's network expansion means that more than 3.5 million households and businesses across Canada can be directly served by the Primus network and access our full range of services at competitive prices," says Matt Stein, Chief Technology Officer at Primus Canada.

Stein continues: "Primus is proud to provide Canadians with a real alternative for all their telecommunications needs, instead of simply re-selling the incumbent providers' services. Without needing to rely on the networks of local phone and cable companies, we're able to differentiate our services, and at lower costs, to deliver a stronger value proposition to our customers."

For $34.95 per month, Primus residential customers can bundle Unlimited High Speed Internet and Traditional Home Phone service, which includes exclusive features such as Telemarketing Guard, a feature to automatically block or manage unwanted calls from frequent mass telemarketers.
