Does anyone think that the use of Powerline network adapters might pose any additional risks to cable modems/routers in terms of power surges and spikes?

All i know is you have to plug them directly into the wall outlet and cannot put them in a power bar. With everything else plugged into a surge protected power bar you should be protected one would think.

That's what prompted my question, as the ethernet ports might be more vulnerable to power fluctuations with a direct connection.

ahh i was thinking over the AC connection not over the CAT-5 connection. Good point, I think the manufacture would have an answer.
