Does anyone own the A-210 or C-200? They seem to be the most versatile of all the media tanks. The A-210 is priced around $199 USD so with our dollar being so strong it is not a bad price if it performs as well as I have read.

Any comments would be appreciated.

I've had an A-200 for a while now.

I put a harddrive in it and it plays everything I throw at it. The interface is okay but could be better. I think the biggest problem there is with the CPU not being able to handle anything too fancy.

The apps for it are decent.

Times between firmware updates is much longer than it used to be. This is only an issue if the current firmware doesn't do something that it's supposed to be doing and you want the fix.

Why not pick up a cheap ION system and use XBMC Live? It wouldn't cost much more and it would be more flexible.

What I really want to do is have a device with a hard drive hooked up to it right next to the tv. It must be able to play MKV files and I also need the hard drive to be available on my network so I can drag and drop files from my imac to the hard drive.

Any suggestions as to what might work best. I believe the boxee box would work for this. Any other options or recommendations?

That is essentially how I use mine. MacBook Pro instead of iMac though.

For big files I need to use FTP though. NFS works fine for everything else.

Now that I have an iPad I can even use Plex to stream from the Popcorn Hour to it via the MBP.

Ended up buying a Boxee Box. Hooked a hard drive directly to it. Imac can see the drive hooked up to the Boxee and I drag and drop files from the Imac to the drive.

I did try streaming from the drive to the boxee but 720p was a bit choppy. Now that it is hooked up directly everything plays flawlessly. I am very impressed with this product.

Netflix is working well on it too.
