I've watched "The Tudors" on both CBC and Bold. One thing I've noticed is the resolution seems poorer on Bold, sometimes significantly so. For example, last night on Bold, in some dark scenes, I could see what appeared to be vertical rectangular pixels i.e. height much greater than width. Has anyone else noticed this?

I haven't noticed it but I wouldn't be surprised if they are sending "faux-HD". I assume you are talking about BoldHD BTW.

The specialty channels are typically allocted less than full bandwidth and as such they have more compression applied, which would explain the artefacting.

Yes, I am referring to HD for both. I rarely watch the SD channels.
