Here's my situation: I subscribe to a bunch of podcasts and use iTunes and a iPod nano to listen to most of them. But when I'm away from home I can't update them on my iPod Nano so I use my Android phone instead. I've been experimenting with Beyondpod for Android on the phone.

I have a few questions around this and am looking for suggestions:

  1. Can anyone give a compelling reason to use an alternative podcast program for Android because Beyondpod seems fine to me?
  2. Should I have Beyondpod synchronize with Google Reader?
  3. Any software or suggestions for synchronizing my "listened to" list between iTunes and what I've listened to on Android or presumably Google Reader? (I'm currently "marking as read" manually)

Suggestions or advise appreciated! Thanks!

1. I use DoggCather and have just tried BeyondPod. They are very similar though I think I might switch to BeyondPod because it's easier to sync with Google Reader and it has a slightly cleaner look. I've also tried Google Listen for Android but it drove me up the wall.

2. Sure.

3. I don't use iTunes so I wouldn't know how to sync with Reader. Have you considered switching to Reader and Android permanently?
