Disney Playhouse TV or on demand?

Unless I miss read the artical, it doesn't state that Rogers will add Disney Playhouse channel to the channel line up. It only state programs from Playhouse for On Demand services.

But I hope they add the channel. I know Family Channel has a ON Demad service I hope they add that too and not just put certain programing from Playhouse & Family on Rogers On Demad, I'd rather see a seperate channel service rather then having to navagate through Rogers on demand.

Thank you for the great news, but I have to agree w/ MCIBUS:

"Rogers’ customers will be able to access an array of exciting channels such as TMN, HBO Canada, Mpix, Family Channel and Playhouse Disney entertainment channels. This deal will enable the customers to enjoy these channels anywhere, round the clock and virtually through any visual medium."

To me, this means RODO. & I thought we already had TMN, HBO Canada, Mpix, & Family Channel?

We just moved down from North Bay to London & believe it or not, we miss Cogeco! They had their issues but the channel lineup & packages were much better organised.

How about paragraph 3, then:

Rogers expects to launch Astral's renowned children's channel, Playhouse Disney, in the coming weeks, delivering more exciting kids' TV programming.

Really, all they're saying in paragraph 1 is that it'll be across all their platforms. It'll be on TV, trust me.

Most Playhouse Disney programs can be found on Treehouse and Family. Disney has only one exclusive program called "Junction Junction". My son used to watch it religiously when we were with Bell. But now that Rogers will carry the channel too, my son will be in heaven.

737,

I see no schedule overlap between Treehouse and Playhouse Disney. Yes, there is overlap between Family and Playhouse Disney, but since they're owned by the same company I'm not surprised. Playhouse Disney certainly plays more for the 4-7 age group, especially in the afternoons and evenings while Family skews towards the pre-teen set at that point.

If you want a 'preview' of Playhouse Disney, go to channel 396...yes, that's the Rogers TV Sports Mix channel with 6 'window panes' of sports channels. Now, look at the top middle 'pane', where TSN2 is supposed to be. You can tell it's PD due to the super-large channel logo in the bottom left of the picture.

By the way, choosing this channel and pressing "select" sends you to TSN2.

In the US, it's coming back. SoapNet will be rebranded as Disney Junior in 2012. It'll be the new Playhouse Disney.

So probably expect Playhouse Disney and the other interational versions of it to be renamed Disney Junior, too... probably. Not a rebranding since it will keep its same preschool genre; just a rename.
