On Friday May 6th, Playhouse Disney will be rebranded Disney Junior. The French-language Playhouse Disney Télé will also change to Disney Junior.

While the name is changing, the station will be available in the same location as it is today and will continue to broadcast popular Disney programming and Canadian produced children's programming.

In addition, Disney Junior will add a few new shows such as Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Special Agent Oso: Three Healthy Steps.

Gathering inspiration from Peter Pan, Jake and the Never Land Pirates is a new animated series featuring a crew of kid pirates trying to outwit the infamous Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. Also joining the schedule, Special Agent Oso: Three Healthy Steps, encourages healthy lifestyles for preschoolers.

Disney Junior is a multiplex channel from Family Channel therefore it is only available to Family Channel subscribers and cannot be ordered as a standalone channel.
