Hi im a customer with virgin. The dont have a very good selection of blackberry so im looking into getting an unlocked phone to use on my plan. Does anyone know if its possible with there new network?

The 8830 World Edition won't work. That only has HSPA 1900 and 2100 frequencies which aren't compatible with north American hspa networks.

They are different models (the "World Edition" is the 8830, the "Tour" is the 9630), but neither will work on Virgin Mobile since their HSPA frequencies are incompatible.

Also, while these handsets are also CDMA-capable (hence why Bell & Telus offered them), Virgin Mobile won't activate it (carriers typically won't activate a CDMA device that didn't come from them).
