Pentax this week announced the K-m DSLR which the company says is designed specifically for consumers wanting to make the jump for a point-and-shoot digital camera.

(it's the same as the K2000 in the U.S)

The Pentax K-M and K2000 system will be available in Canada and the United States in November. The K-m with smc Pentax-DA L 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL lens will sell in Canada for $650. The K2000 digital SLR system with smc PENTAX DA L 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL lens and AF200FG flash will sell for US $700.
