That explains why it's missing from Paramount Network, not that I watched it there anyway. Paramount Network aired a rerun of 1883 on Jan 2. I'll take a look for The Road West.

I find it interesting that Paramount+ shows which rights in Canada are owned by Rogers or Corus, e.g. The Good Fight, The Twilight Zone, Interrogation, Evil, SEAL Team, Five Bedrooms Why Women Kill are available on Paramount+ in Canada, while shows which rights in Canada are owned by Bell are not available, e.g. Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars.

The rights negotiated for the Star Trek franchise preceded most of those other programs and, judging by the bragging done by one Bell executive, probably include exclusive rights for a very long time. Another reason may be that Bell is willing to pay a lot more for ongoing exclusive rights than Corus. Corus does retain exclusive rights to the new shows mentioned for some time. That was once up to a year after initial airing but now appears to be as little as one week after the initial airing, depending on the show. Another trend seems to be for Paramount+ exclusive programming in the US to not be aired on TV in Canada but going straight to Paramount + Canada, as seen with Seal team.

There appears to difference between Bell and Corus with Bell airing more shows on its channels that are exclusive to Paramount+ in the US (The Good Fight, Star Trek spinoffs) but Corus is not (Seal Team.) Again, that is determined by negotiation between the parties and on how much broadcasters are willing to pay. Bell appears to be a tough negotiator when it comes to programming rights and carriage of US stations and also appears to be willing to retain rights in order to retain the market positions of its Crave streaming service and conventional TV services.

For some reason I wrote Five Bedrooms when what I meant was Why Women Kill.

I did not draw any conclusion, I just found that fact interesting. In addition, several of current CBS shows carried by Global are available: NCIS franchise, FBI franchise, CSI: Vegas, Survivor, Good Sam etc., while none of current CBS shows on CTV/CTV2 is available.

There was so much news from Paramount+ yesterday, I'll use this Deadline summary as the source, although there are many individual articles and press releases. I'm assuming any new productions will be exclusive to Paramount+ in Canada, following their recent practice, and existing franchises will continue their licence agreements. I'm not including theatrical releases, since those have different agreements in Canada.

MOVIES

SpongeBob SquarePants:
A further expansion of the SpongeBob universe is coming exclusively to Paramount+ with three brand-new movies based on the show’s original characters, with the first dropping in 2023. In addition, a fourth SpongeBob release from Nickelodeon Animation is currently in development for theatrical release. (SpongeBob airs on YTV, so the Paramount+ movies may go there under the existing licence.)

SEAL Team: new stand-alone SEAL Team movie for Paramount+.

Teen Wolf: The first original production from MTV and MGM, Paramount+ will reunite the original Teen Wolf cast for an exclusive full-length movie. (The final season premiered on MTV Canada in 2016, so it's possible the movie may go to Bell Media under their existing output agreement. All 6 seasons are on P+ and the MGM channel on Amazon.)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: A new animated movie coming to theaters in 2023, plus a series of exclusive movies for Paramount+ beginning in 2023. (Nick Canada still airs old episodes of TMNT)

ADULT ANIMATION

Beavis and Butt-Head:
All-new series premiering across Paramount+ globally, plus the full 200+ episode Beavis and Butt-Head library and previously announced new film, Beavis and Butt-Head do the Universe.

South Park: The TV series will arrive on Paramount+ internationally as the exclusive SVOD home later this year with over 300 episodes. Additionally, South Park will begin rolling out on Paramount+ globally as the new exclusive SVOD home starting with Season 27 in 2024, and the full library is headed to Paramount+ U.S. in 2025.

GLOBAL UNSCRIPTED

All Star Shore:
A competition docuseries that will feature 14 of reality TV’s most iconic stars from around the world.

Ink Master: The tattoo competition makes its premiere on Paramount+ in markets around the world with all-new episodes later this year.

The Challenge: War of the Worlds: Winners from four new Challenge series The Challenge: CBS (working title), The Challenge: Argentina, The Challenge: Australia and The Challenge: U.K. will advance to the first-ever globally connected tournament.

The Real World Homecoming: New Orleans: The New Orleans cast members will reunite. In addition, the original season of The Real World: New Orleans will be available to stream on Paramount+ beginning in April.

The Shore: Seven upcoming iterations from the franchise will launch on Paramount+ in territories around the globe, including Argentina Shore, Colombia Shore and Australian Shore, with more cities to be announced.

The following reality series have been renewed on Paramount+: Queen of the Universe, RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars and The Challenge: All Stars. Internationally, Acapulco Shore, Geordie Shore: Return of the OGs and Rio Shore have also been renewed.

GLOBAL SCRIPTED

1932:
The next chapter of the Yellowstone origin story is ordered.

Land Man: Billy Bob Thornton will star, executive produced by Taylor Sheridan.

Lioness: Zoe Saldaña will star, executive produced by Taylor Sheridan.
.
Tulsa King: Previously announced as Kansas City and starring Sylvester Stallone, will premiere this fall.

NCIS: Sydney: A new original series slated for 2023, featuring Australian actors and producers.

A Gentleman in Moscow (UK): Based on the bestselling novel by Amor Towles.

Sexy Beast (UK): The prequel series, based on the film of the same name.

Simon Beckett’s The Chemistry of Death (Germany): Based on Simon Beckett’s novels.

Yonder (South Korea): Drama/science-fiction series.

Renewals were announced for Season 2 of Halo, and international hits Cecilia and Los Enviados (The Envoys).

EDIT: Deadline forgot to mention that 1883 had been renewed for a second season. (Deadline)
