Panasonic has announced the SA-BX500, the company's new flagship 7.1-channel AV control receiver at CEDIA.

Features of the new A/V receiver include: 130 Watts per channel, bi-amp, bi-wiring capability, inter-operability with Viera link enabled equipment, three HDMI inputs, the ability to switch 1080p video signals, and audio decoding for HD Audio (Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HDTM Master Audio).

The SA-BX500 will be available in October 2008 with a suggested retail price of U.S. $799.

looks like the biggest peice of s*** for an AV receiver. Panny, stick to your tv's and dvd players.

Merve, That's what a lot of people thought when the SA-XR series came out.
Then they actually listened to them.
I used to run a $2.5k Onkyo 838, then i switched over to a $300 panny.
Class D is just toooo good.
I think you should listen before you make hasty judgements like this one.
This one is on my list to check out. As well as the pio SC-05
I'm thinking I'll spend a little more this time around, though.
Maybe some rotel..
