I was just wondering if anyone knows which one CTV, CBC, Global, or CityTV has the most HD programming. I noticed recently that Global has really stepped it up having HD programming even during the day. CityTV seems to have less. I don't have CBC or CTV in hd locally yet so I can't speak to that one.

HD Calgary

Last I checked in Calgary CTV Daytime line up is mostly HD except the local news and between 1 and 2 in the afternoon.

Global has no shows in hd except Global National as of begining of last month in daytime. I here the local Global News will be in HD soon.

On City TV Breakfast TV and Cityline are in HD in the Daytime not sure about other shows.

Most of the shows in prime time on all stations are HD.

CTV Late night The Daily Show and Cobert report are HD

We Dont have CBC in HD yet in Calgary

I was saying most HD content regardless of origin. Global does have shows during the day as well as almost all the prime time. There is at least one soap plus another show off the leash something like that, the two ET shows and news. There is quite a bit of HD content on Global in an 18hr period.

One might say local programming is lagging in HD. One also might say the available HD is to allow sim-subbing of commercials, especially if one is a cynic. So far CTV appears to be ahead in this snails race.

I would rate the Big 4 as follows for HD content:

Canadian produced content:

1. CBC
2. CTV
3. CITY
4. GLOBAL

All Content (US and Canadian)

1. CTV
2. CBC
3. GLOBAL
4. CITY
