I have new Optik set-up running through my Harman Kardon AVR1600 but I continually receive "mode not supported" when the video signal is transferred through to the TV. I have checked all the HDMI ports with my blu-ray and they are all functioning fine. If I plug the Optik TV HDMI into the blu-ray port then it works but only if the blu-ray initiallized the port....if I start with the Optik TV HDMI plugged in then I get the error message. Both Telus and HK seem to have no clue.....HK said maybe it is the set top box thinking the receiver is a recording device.......telus said that the encrption may be too new for the receiver....does anyone have any ideas? Has anyone had similar problems? I have reset the box and the receiver numerous times......

Here's an FAQ on HDMI issues, things to check, try, etc:

Since you're getting "mode not supported" and not "no signal", the signal is getting through, but apparently an incompatible signal. Perhaps the HK is upconverting to 1080P and the TV doesn't accept, or the TV doesn't accept 480i via HDMI, etc. Also, sometimes it's important to turn on devices in a certain order, usually the AVR first. Or it could be a firmware issue. Lots of other items in the above link...

Sound issues

As of yesterday, I am having issues with sound from the centre channel using optical cable from Yamaha RXV-1300. The sound issue is not on all channels and it is not persistent. For instance, I can hear the buzzing sound during the world cup but no commentary. I can get the commentary back by using 6 Ch. sound on the receiver. The commentary comes back on its own. I had the same issue during the NBA Finals last night. There is some strange sound processing going on with the Mediaroom that is not been reported as yet.
