Norway's Opera Software this week released Version 11.50 of its web browsing software for Windows, Mac and Linux.
Features of the new version, codenamed "Swordfish," include: the new Opera Presto 2.9 rendering engine; an improved user interface; the ability for Opera extensions to share cookies with the browser so you don't have to log in separately from an extension, password synchronization, and numerous bug fixes and optimizations.
One interesting new feature and a new type of browser extension called Speed Dial extensions. Instead of thumbnails and links to your favourite sites, users can embed their Speed Dial with extensions which can automatically be reloaded at specific intervals.
The Opera web browser is a free download from www.opera.com.
