Hi,

I just purchased the Onkyo s5300. I am very exited to try it out, but i'm having problems.

What I currently have:
- Plasma TV with HDMI Inputs
- PS3 with HDMI Connection
- Desktop with HDMI Video output
- Regular Basic Cable for Basic Channels

I installed all the speakers and connected to the reciever as indicated in the quick setup guide. To start, I just wanted to test the PS3, as it seems the simplest. I connected the PS3 to the Game Input on the Onkyo reciever via HDMI cable. Then I used another HDMI cable to connect the HDMI Output on the reciever to HDMI input on my TV. I put the video (HDMI 2) on my TV, and Game Input on the Onkyo reciever, but I'm not getting any video or sound when I turn on my PS3. Am I doing something wrong?

Another question is, how would I connect the Basic Cable so that I can use the Onkyo as well?

Thanks in advance!

Is the Digital Audio Out the best option for my setup

Hi,

I am trying to find the best way to connect my Home Theatre System to my TV. Unfortunately for now, I just have basic cable (without a box) connected directly to the TV. Until I get a digital box, I would like to know what would be the best way to take advantage of my speakers.

Here are the Audio Output options on my TV:
Panasonic Viera TC-P50V10

Here are the Inputs on my AVR:
Onkyo 7.1 s5300

Is the Digital Audio Output on my TV better than the regular RCA (White/Red Connections)? If yes, will my AVR take the Input? What cables do I need to get?

Any Help Much Appreciated!
