Onkyo announced today that it has expanded its product line with three new high end THX Certified components including the company's first A/V preamplifier/processor, a matching 150-watt nine-channel amplifier, and a Blu-ray Disc Player.

The network-capable Onkyo PR-SC5508 9.2-channel AV preamp/processor features a 3D-Ready HDMI-1.4a interface, HQV Reon-VX video processing, ISF Video Calibration, Audyssey MultEQ XT 32 sound correction technologies.

Connectivity options include 8 HDMI inputs, dual USB's, two balanced line-level XLR audio inputs, and nine XLR preamp outputs to drive the matching nine-channel power amplifier.

To pair with the PR-SC5508 preamplifier/processor, Onkyo has introduced the PA-MC5500, a nine-channel THX-Ultra2 Plus certified analog power amplifier that is 8-ohm rated at 150 Watts per channel, and up to 400 Watts dynamic power into 3 ohms.

The PR-SC5508 preamp/processor, PA-MC5500 amplifier and BD-SP808 Blu-ray player will be available in September for U.S. $2,199, $1,699 and $599 respectively.

Cool! Thanks for the up, hugh.

I will probably be in the market for a new receiver in the spring and this just complicates the issue. I have never had a preamp/amp combo in my life but I may have the money to finally spring for such a setup.

Oh man, that processor looks sweet. Will it actually be available up here? In the past you had to go through a U.S. retailer to get an Onkyo pre/pro. It was a pain, but worth it for me.

I imagine it will be up here. I wonder how these will differ from Integra models, if at all.
